Post-it

Heya!
Well haven't really blogged for quite awhile, so well.. here's a little more about my life in canada.

Canada. Well before i came here, i always had this view of Canada as a place with the nicest and most friendly people. The place where everyone would greet you, saying like, "Mornin." Or "how'd u do." Or "Yo dude, wutsup bro? U cool today? I'm cool, man.. Hope everything's cool with u coz i luve ya brudder.. later!" Yeah, stuff like that. Thats how i always saw Canadians, for some reason. I wonder how i ever got that idea.. maybe it's because i'm one. Haha.
But well, it turns out that not all Canadians are nice people. Well actually, quite the contrary. Well, lemme give u a few examples.

When i go out with my school friends, we cannot wear any school uniform or anything that shows that we're from St. Georges(my school). You see, because my school is supposedly the best school in the area, and its a private school, we'll get mugged or just beaten up. Why? Because ppl think we're all rich spoilt kids.

Another example. Vancouver is known as the "Weed City" of North America. How come u ask. It's simple. There's just so much weed circulating in the city, even 7 year olds can obtain it. Once an old lady approached my friend and asked him if he wanted to buy some. (BTW, weed=marijuana=cannabis=drugs).

Last one. There's a street in downtown Vancouver called Davie Street. It's where all the gay people hangout. Dangerous for guys, but not for girls. Really dumb.

Hmmz most of my recent posts have been kinda negative. So on a lighter note, my msn messenger isn't working properly. *............................* Thats right! There isn't a lighter note! Haha! Just Kidding.

I've realized that i'm slowly getting my 'angmoh' accent back. Hehe. Yeah i used to have it when i was in Hong Kong due to overexposure to "Americanized" people. But then, i lost it in Singapore. Lost all the slangs and stuff, and what did i get in return? Singlish. Wah Lau eh... But well, now i'm kinda like mixed. A little Singlish and a little Ameri-nglish. It's rather odd.. and it goes a little like this," Oei dun lah, duude. Don't u go pang seh me man. Alermak." Haha.

Actually, i've been really blessed since coming here. I was just too caught up in other things to realize it. I was blessed with 3 friends my age from ACS here in the boarding house. It's so cool, because never has this many singaporeans come to St. Georges School in the same year before. Another testimony to God's blessing is that i received a guitar from a family friend staying in Vancouver. It's a Fender Acoustic btw. So for u guitar fanatics, what do u think? Truly GOd's blessing. And finally, i've been blessed with true friends in S'pore who still, after 3 weeks, still continue to encourage me. So yeah. Thank u Jesus!
